PROJECT PRIORITIES After careful evaluation of the existing facility’s functional deficits, MEP systems, and capacity requirements, it was determined that this facility could not be cost-effectively renovated. GGA worked with county officials and developed a plan for a new off-site facility to be co-allocated between the County and the City of Sioux City.

SOLUTION GGA assisted the City and County in selecting a site on the edge of town for a 448-bed facility. With a 121,000 square foot floor plan, the new facility will include additional beds for special needs and psychiatric housing, four courtrooms with jury capabilities and all judicial court services, as well as prosecutors’ offices for all criminal divisions.
