Montgomery County Law Enforcement Center
Montgomery City, MO
This phased project, completed between 1995 – 1997, included three projects. First, renovations to the existing courthouse for dispatch, offices, jail kitchen, and much needed heating and cooling system upgrades. Second, a new elevator, lobby and bathrooms for ADA-compliant access to all courthouse and jail floors. Lastly, a new 26,000 square foot jail and Sheriff’s Department.
By the fourth month of operation in its new building, the Sheriff’s Department announced revenues for holding prisoners from other jurisdictions which exceeded monthly operating costs. In 1998, Montgomery County announced a long-term agreement to hold INS prisoners, thereby assuring sufficient net revenues to offset other operating costs and accelerate debt retirement.
