Cherokee County Law Enforcement Center

Project Background and Priorities

A new Law Enforcement Center was needed to replace Cherokee County’s outdated, overcrowded Jail, located on the top floor of the Courthouse.

Solution

A new facility with a physical connection of housing control to central control, reducing a customary 2-post operation to 1 ½ -posts. An ancillary housing wing allows for separation of work release from the general population, reducing risk of contraband. Flexible space strategically located near the front of the facility can serve multiple functions, including staff conferences, squad meetings, court hearings, and video arraignment.
