PROJECT PRIORITIES Phelps County hired GGA to assess options for expanding their existing facility, taking advantage of Rolla’s location to house detainees from other agencies. Our team worked with MEP and structural engineers to evaluate expansion options that fit with the Sheriff’s vision for his facility.

SOLUTION Ultimately, it was determined that a 96-bed addition could be constructed on the back of the current jail. While the expansion of a jail may seem straightforward, many support facilities are required to keep a detention facility operating smoothly. The Phelps County addition will also have a control room, space for medical evaluation and treatment, and activity space for detainees. The addition also includes a secure vehicular sallyport, significantly increasing the safety and efficiency of the facility.
