After nearly five years of effort, Miami County succeeded in passing a law enforcement tax to fund replacement of its outworn and overcrowded County jail. Goldberg Group Architects (GGA) was selected in late 2014 as architect for the County’s proposed 96-bed Law Enforcement Center. GGA initiated an updated needs assessment to confirm the project’s intended capacity as well as a comparative site evaluation.

GGA assisted county officials locate the project in close proximity to the current Courthouse, and assemble additional properties to resolve the long-standing parking shortage around the County Government complex.

The project’s exterior takes visual cues from the County’s historic Courthouse, with matching materials, arched windows and entry tower. GGA assisted the County in developing two important memorials around the new project– one for Fallen Officers, the other for 9-11-01 First Responders.
