PROJECT PRIORITIES  A jail expansion designed to attach to the rear of the County’s existing facility on a limited, severely sloping site. 

SOLUTION  The new facility is a compact mid-rise arrangement of podular housing over administrative support offices. Shell space was included on the upper level for additional housing space in the future. Funding for the project was assisted by the U.S. Marshal’s CAP-Grant Program, through which a portion of the County’s construction costs were reimbursed in return for a long-term agreement to house federal prisoners.
