Buchanan County Courthouse Renovation

St. Joseph, MO

PROJECT PRIORITIES  Although some limited repair work on Buchanan County’s historic 1850s Courthouse had been performed on an intermittent basis, this handsome structure badly needed a comprehensive face-lift and restoration.

SOLUTION  GGA developed masonry, cornice and trim repairs as well as 244, historically compatible, energy-saving windows, some as tall as 16 feet in height. All work had to be carefully staged to allow judicial functions to continue without delays or interruption. The Courthouse project utilized a substantial number of local contractors and savings against the original construction budget allowed several additional repairs to exterior entrances and stone step to take place.

Project Data:

  • Completed in September 2013
  • 244 window units
