New $35.8M Saginaw County Jail to Generate Nearly 200 Construction Jobs
SAGINAW, MI — After years of planning, work on the new $35.8 million Saginaw County jail is set to commence, bringing up to 200 construction jobs along the way.
County and city officials celebrated a groundbreaking for the Saginaw County Adult Detention Center Monday morning, May 21, taking shovels to a pile of dirt in a symbolic gesture.
Saginaw’s Spence Brothers is the construction manager for the project and Goldberg Group Architects based out of Missouri designed the jail.
The construction of the new jail will produce 150-200 jobs, said Herbert A. Spence III, president and chief executive officer of Spence Brothers.
