36TH STREET CONDO
Saint Joseph, MO
A group of St. Joseph professionals teamed up to build an office building that would house each of their growing businesses. The building was developed as a condominium association which allowed each business to own its own space while providing the construction cost savings possible with a larger building. The site selected just off 36th Street shared a driveway with an existing bank and another professional building from which the new Condo would share design elements to achieve visual continuity.
The “L” shaped building design afforded each professional space visibility and access for clients with frontage exposure off the main parking lot. This also allowed maximum window exposure from both the front and back of the building for natural lighting and the feeling of a detached, stand alone space.
Exterior views of the building are shown here along with the interior spaces of two offices in the building–an architectural office space and one for a general dentistry practice.
Goldberg Group Architects utilized an open floor plan to accommodate its expanding national architectural practice. The space provided large and small conference areas, private offices and a large open work-space with multiple drafting stations and stand up podiums for plan review. Natural light and an open view to the exterior from every workstation contributes to a pleasant environment.
Dr. Lisa Goin selected interior colors and finishes which created a relaxing setting for her dental clients. This is apparent from the first view of the reception area and flows through to the treatment spaces. The office has a large open bay with multiple semi-private cubicles. Additionally, the clinic features a private operatory, lab and sterilization spaces. The environment is appealing not only to clients, but offers the staff and doctors a lounge and private office areas. All interior spaces share abundant natural light through the multiple windows available to the end suite of the building. .
