Miami County, KS Detention Center Project

October 25, 2016 Criminal Justice, From GGA Comments Off on Miami County, KS Detention Center Project

Miami County Kansas has been tracking the progress of their new Jail since 2014 and completion is now just months away.    Located diagonally across the intersection from their beautiful Courthouse, the project started with the demolition of existing houses on the site.  Next was construction of the tunnel under the street connecting the Jail to the Courthouse. And finally, taxpayers and County Officials were pleased to see the jail facility underway, complete with an exterior facade that complements the historic Courthouse nearby.  The Government Organization of Paola, Kansas has documented the progress of this project with photos and commentary on the Miami County Detention Center Facebook page.
